Polishing a F-ed Up BMW E90
Just the other day a customer came to our retail store to inquire about some detailing products for his be em er. I was shocked when I saw the car’s condition. The paint job was bad, heavy orange peel and the car seemed to be scuffed for what reasons, I don’t know!
The owner of this BMW E90, wanted to get some products to rectify the problem. So I asked him to move the car in and I would like to demonstrate what our products can do for him.
And the demo goes like this:
How the F-ed Up E90 looked at first
From a different angle
Close Up on the defects. (Heavy Orange Peel + Scratches)
For my polishing demonstration:
Step 1: I used Perfect 50 + Denim Leveling Foam + Rotary Polisher @ 1700rpms
Step 2: Nao Compound 46 + Purple Foamed Wool + Rotary Polisher @ 1500rpms
Step 3: Nao Polish 36 + Black Finishing Foam + Rotary Polisher @ 1500rpms, forgot to take a picture for this step (-_-)”
Cleaning with IPA to remove polishing oils to inspect my work
And the results…….. ( Drum roll……..)
From a different angle 50/50
Close up 50/50
(The one on the left has orange peel and tons of scratches. The one the right has its orange peel and scratches leveled to bring out an absolute reflection)
In summary what was done were
Step 1: Perfect 50 + Denim Leveling Foam + Rotary Polisher @ 1700rpms (To remove orange peel and deep scratches. But it left behind some buffer swirls)
Step 2: Nao Compound 46 + Purple Foamed Wool + Rotary Polisher @ 1500rpms (Swilrs were removed with this step. And now all that’s left behind is holograms)
Step 3: Nao Polish 36 + Black Finishing Foam + Rotary Polisher @ 1500rpms (Holograms were removed effortlessly)
That’s all guys. Hoped you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed leveling and correcting that paint!
